Meet Rebecca
Rebecca Chartrand is an Anishinaabe, Inninew, Dakota, and Métis leader, educator, and long-time advocate for Indigenous and northern communities. Running as the Liberal candidate in Churchill—Keewatinook Aski, she brings deep roots across Northern Manitoba and a proven track record of tackling critical issues such as poverty reduction, anti-racism, suicide prevention, health, safety, and justice.
A bridge-builder at heart, Rebecca is committed to amplifying northern and Indigenous voices and positioning the Churchill riding as a strategic economic gateway for Canada. Her near-successful grassroots campaign in 2015 continues to fuel her drive for bold, inclusive leadership rooted in reconciliation, equity, and community-building.
At the core of her vision is partnerships economic sovereignty, climate-smart infrastructure, and creating real opportunities in housing, health, and education—ensuring northern communities thrive now and for future generations.
